Human Resources Assistant

Hannah "Beth" Phillips, Human Resources Assistant, is a Delmar High graduate [Class of 1966]. She began her career with the Delmar School District in October 1980 as a guidance secretary. During the years, she has held other positions, i.e., classroom assistant, financial secretary, DBOE secretary, and administrative secretary.

Mrs. Phillips is active in the Delaware Association of Education Office Professionals and has served on the scholarship committee as well as been the local Delmar Secretaries Association representative. Beth has received various trainings regarding PHRST [payroll, human resources, and benefits system of the State of Delaware], DFMS [Delaware Financial Management System], and State of Delaware Budgeting and Accounting and participates on various committees which implement these systems.

She is also actively involved in the new First State Financial System development which includes eProcurement, PHRST compatibility and needs assessment, ePay and eBenefits. Married to alumnus, Donald Phillips [Class of 1964].

Beth is the proud mother of two Delmar graduates, Bert [Class of 1985] and Christine [Class of 1989]. Mrs. Phillips is a member of St. Stephens' United Methodist Church, where she participates in the hand bell choir, gospel choral group, and Chancel Choir. Active in her community, Mrs. Phillips is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and participates in the Relay for Life.
